Activities

Depending on what interests you have, there are different activities you can enjoy. Swimming and sunbathing is a must in Platamon, and with such big variety of beaches to go to, you are literally spoiled for choice. Everyone's favorite is the beach Kalamaki - meaning The Straw. Within 5-10 minutes walking distance south of town, it’s filled with beach bars, too suit every taste. And if you want to explore Platamons long beaches and bars, just walk along the shore and you will find several more

Hiking

If you feel adventurous you can explore the area by renting a car and visiting the nearby town of Litochoro, which is the port of the Olympic mountain range for hiking. See those beautiful views, enjoy the freshest air you'll ever breathe, visit the 16th century monastery "Agios Dionysos", or further up to terminus “Prionia”. Park the car and continue on foot to 1200m high and continue up to the exciting peaks of Mount Olympus.

If you just want to do something more relaxing, you can rent a scooter or a car and visit the magnificent old and beautiful village "Palios Pandeleimon " (old Pandeleimon), 460 meters above sea level. There, you will find cozy restaurants and cafes close to the old Church of saint Pandeleimon. Enjoy really good Greek cuisine with some of the best red and rosé wines, or perhaps just a nice cup of green mint tea, wildly grown and hand-picked in the area.
